Danny Carey from Tool, neil peart from rush (who is probably going on for best drummer in the world), the guy from the berserker (who is the fastest drummer in the world, iirc) and the guy from SikTh (for some neat rhythms on the new album).
probably way more worth note, though. |

Danny Carey, Tool
He is just soo damn talented, it is amazing, but that is true with every member of tool. But I dont know too many of the drumbers, and I dont know enough about it to really say if some bands have a good drumber or a bad one. Most of them all sound the same, with a few exeptions listed here. |
Neil Peart
Buddy Rich Bill Bruford Michael Giles Todd Nance Gregg Bisonette |
Dave Grohl - Nirvana, QOTS, Foo Fighters.
Danny Carey - Tool Led Zeppelin drummer Neil Peart - Rush Dave Lombardo - Slayer SOAD drummer RATM drummer |

metallicas drummer is lars ulrich. hes sick
|
Ulrich on Metallica's new album is almost indistuingishable from any other shitty nĂ¼-metal drummer of late.
I'd much rather listem to his older stuff, Enter Sandman and Sanitarium, to name a couple. I also like John Bonham and Jon Fishman of Phish. I guess I'm a hypocrite though to say that I can't get enough of Travis Barker on the Transplants' album, though... I also like the band Cake and their drummer. I have a very, um, diverse, idea of good music. |
ulrich plays drums that sound like tin cans on St. Anger. He had it specially made for the album and he turned it off for some songs. he was playing double bass before a lot of people on the old stuff though.
|
technical drummer -Phil collins
best ever according to my taste -Ginger Baker (cream) -John Bonham (zeppelin) |
Got to be Philly Joe Jones
The man played with everybody. Miles Davis thought he was the besg drummer ever....and thats good enough for me. |
The drummer from Jimi Hendrix's band, whatever his name is.

In the province of Drums, I would say the entire KOTO ensemble from Japan is my favorite.
http://www.kodo.or.jp/ In their performance they use series of giant O-Daiko drums which are possibly the largest traditional drums ever. Usually taking several years for a specialized craftsman to create, the sound resembles an earthquake- no bass enhancement required. http://www.taiko.com/resource/taiko_...s/n_odaiko.jpg I'd like to see Tommy Lee try his hand at THAT. The Japanese always put their all into anything they do, so the drumming is always visually very interesting- three people can be in the middle of a circle of drums, pounding out a rhythm while juggling drumsticks with each other. True virtuosity. |
That's one drum!!! But isn't Japan also the home of:
http://www.synthmuseum.com/casio/casrz101.jpg The Casio RZ-1. The perfect drummer, it doesn't need its own roadie. |
