Sam2 Broadcaster

OMG, I think it hates me. when its fading between tracks it goes apesh!t

global_groove6 7th September 2003 00:37

what version u using? I'm running v2.6.2 pre-2RC4 and hasnt bugged out for over a month now. All the latest releases don't agree with my computer. mind ya, it took me about 11 different versions before I found a stable one.

Scot - SJIRadio 7th September 2003 01:17

It runs fine on my laptop (2.4ghz with 128mb of ram), but on the desktop with a athlon1200+ it doesn't like to crossfade at all. Downloaded identical files for both.

Use the Sam2 forum over at SpacialAudio.com. Not everyone here knows how to use Sam2.

Go to the troubleshooting section of the site. Its really easy to fix, you just have to adjust some stuff. Or go to the help on the program and click troubleshooting to get to the site.

Those of you that are experiencing the "skipping bug" during crossfades in the latest RC4 release might try the following work-around suggested by Kevin until we get the issue resolved:

Louis:
My SAM does not skip now, check this out, I adjusted the following on the pipline:

DECK A & B = silent output
Final Output= Direct Sound Output filter.
Output Device= My Soundcard
Buffer Size=2350
Pre-Buffer =3
Poll Events-47

And then everything functioned correctly even using the crossfading button.

Thanks again,
Kevin

hehe... The upcomming releases should fix the problem...

Do you have RC4c? If so that ver should have deminished the problem

Scot - SJIRadio 9th September 2003 21:53

I just had downloaded it like 2 days ago. I am not sure what version it is... let me check... yea 2.6.9 RC4c on both systems. I think its an issue relevant to the processor on the system because other than that all other variables are the same. Same OS build, same ram, and same audio being encoded going to the same source.

DJHotIce 9th September 2003 21:56

since I awnser support questions over there as well...

what processor are you using on the system that works
and the system that doesn't work

additionally please feel free to submit a bug reports at

ok. once again. I download the trial of Sam ad throw it out the window before 1 day is up. I have no clue why, I just dont like it. its confusing tryng to get it doing what it says it can do. like keeping the same artist/song from playing for every xx minutes and trying to get it to insert jingles/ads/station ids/etc inbetween every xx songs. its all very confusing.

DJHotIce 10th September 2003 12:20

maybe because you removed the ad possibly..

also check your category based rotation, you may need to write a pal script to get what your wanting. Which in the case I did :D

FesterHead 10th September 2003 18:38

With SAM, start small.
Begin with simple category based rotation.

Then, as you learn the interface and utilities, gradually build/add automation scripts.

My entire schedule is run via category rotation logic and PAL scripts.
