someone please help

Alright, I try to open up NSVenc and it brings up an MS-DOS program says something really fast then automatically closes. It does it on all of the NSV__ programs but on the other programs it doesn't. What do I do to stop this so I can do what you guys said to.

Also, I am wandering if I can stream from a DVD-ROM drive that I have?

PLEASE HELP!

Don't run the command line tools directly. Run them from the command console.
(command in 9x/ME; cmd in 2k/XP)

frown13 7th September 2003 21:29

what command console?

DJ too 7th September 2003 21:36

you have to start an MS-DOS Command Prompt.

Start > Run > "command"

frown13 7th September 2003 21:41

TY, I got it know, can I stream a DVD from my DVD-ROM Drive?

Sawg 7th September 2003 21:45

You can't.

frown13 7th September 2003 21:47

Ahh, well, do you guys know any programs that I can get to rip them off DVD's fast??

frown13 7th September 2003 21:54

so I can broadcast them?

frown13 7th September 2003 22:43

I guess nobody does, :'( Thanks anyway!

Jay 7th September 2003 23:24

technically this would be illegal to do if you are using copyrighted DVD disks. But there are ways.

frown13 8th September 2003 02:19

oh, I didn't know it was illegal. OPPS!! Sorry everyone, I'm sure people do it, isn't it the same as downloading stuff like that off of KaZaa or something like that??

Jay 8th September 2003 04:05

ya, but that is illegal as well :)

Jeeper One 8th September 2003 08:46

Hi everyone:

Frown13 - If you're going to run an Internet Radio (or TV) station, you MUST familiarize yourself with what is legal and what is not UNDER U.S. LAW (as well as those of your country if you're not in the U.S.).

This is because The RIAA (primarily) is slowly trying (and unfortunately succeeding) to corner the marketplace by closing EVERY conceivable gap there is to keep us "ordinary folks" going to music and video stores where they can continue to gouge prices and rob us of the music or movies we WANT to see.

In short, if you believe their so-called "logic", we're supposedly the blame for the sales of CDs being down (a fact which has repeatedly been found to be TOTALLY FALSE). As such, we're shrinking their wallets. So they're trying to MANIPULATE the political system to (hopefully and essentially for them) amke ALL FORMS of multimedia on the Internet ILLEGAL (unless THEY are the ones at the controls). :(

Think this is just propaganda bull crap?? Check out these URLs....

Hope this helps :)

Cheers for now everyone :)

legal dvd encode

Hi! I want to encode a DVD to NSV (not streaming though). It isn't illegal... it's from a religious nonprofit and I have permission to do it. Any tips on how to go about doing this? Thanks!

nitrons*girl 29th September 2003 15:26

www.vcdhelp.com can give you help for ripping dvd's, then encode! since it is a nonprofit permission thing... ;)

psm321 29th September 2003 18:48

So there is no way to encode directly to NSV? I need to have enough space on my hard drive to rip the DVD first? In case it helps, there is no CSS on the dvd.

Jeeper One 30th September 2003 21:25

Hi everyone:

Not at the present moment. So yes you do need to have enough space on the HD to rip the DVD into either a VCD MPEG-1 file or an MPEG-2 with a screen resolution of AT LEAST 352 x 288. There are tools which will rip the DVD at www.vcdhelp.com/ You can (or should) also use your TV tuner card and its software if you connect the cable into the S-Video jack on your card and the DVD player.

Hope this helps :-)

Cheers for now :-)
