No Track Name?
Ok, once I load up my playlist in Winamp 2.8.1, as winamp goes through them to pull up there track time, the name goes away and puts a - in. This doesn't happen with winamp 3, but I hate WA3, so I wanted to get 2 to work. Anyone help?

Your ID3 tags are blank. Click on one of the "-"s in the playlist and hit alt-3. You'll see.

ctrl+p > preferences > plugins > input > nullsoft mpeg audio decoder > configure > title/tags > uncheck 'read id3v1/v2 tags for titles'
Henry: the tags aren't blank, if winamp doesn't find any id3 tags it displays the filename the tags must be screwed or incomplete (no artist and title) |
By "tags are blank" I mean that the information fields in the ID3 tag are blank, not that the tag itself is absent. If the tag itself is absent, yes, filename will be displayed. That is why I did not say "your tags are absent."

Malice X...
Do you have Windows Media Player version 9? Apparently there is a feature of WMP9 that updates/rewrites ID3 by searching the internet. If it can not find info the tags fields are left blank. This is done surreptitiously in the background. Depending on how ID3 display options are set the blank fields will appear as a – (dash) in Winamp's playlist. I think this feature in WMP9 can be turned off. I don't have WMP9 so I don't know how change that option. http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....751#post900261 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....635#post943616 |
