Firewall, Shoutcast....

Alright. I have a router, with an inbuilt firewall. It's a Linksys Wireless Access Point Router, 4-port switch, etc.

Anyways, As of now I can't stream through shoutcast for people if I'm connected to my router, (I'm physically connected to it. I don't have a wireless card.) This is the error I got, just so I could get the details on what the DNAS said when it tried to send data through the firewall. Here's what it said:

Quote:

<09/13/03@10:42:36> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xx.xx.xx.xxx:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)
Now then, The point.

I'm wondering if there's a port that I can switch "8000" to, that can maybe bipass the firewall, or disable the firewall alrogether.

I've went into the Firewall settings through accessing the IP of it through my browser, but I didn't see any firewall settings.

I'd like to have it so that I can be playing Socom Online, for instance, and be streming for a friend or two on shoutcast, instead of switching back and forth.

Any tips?

Forward TCP port 8000 to the IP of your computer (you can check by typing ipconfig at the DOS prompt).

Log into the router and look for the port forwarding screen -- it should be pretty straight forward.

As a last resort (and highly unrecommended) make your IP DMZ host which will forward ALL ports to your PC.
