On Demand - localhost works, ip from another system doesn't
I've read the sticky's, they were very helpful and got me over a few hurdles, but I'm up against a wall.
I've got my shoutcast DNAS running on a WinXP system on my home network behind a Netgear router. Streaming is working fine, it's broadcasting on port 9000. I'm trying to configure on demand. Here's my config file Content section: ; ContentDir specifies the directory location on disk of where to stream ; on-demand content from. Subdirectories are supported as of DNAS 1.8.2. ; Default is ./content, meaning a directory named content in the same directory ; as where sc_serv was invoked from. ContentDir=./content/ If I go to another computer on the network, I can connect to the on demand content by opening Winamp and opening http://myserver:9000/content/scpromo.mp3, but opening http://myserver:9000/content/scpromo.pls gets me an Invalid resource request error. If I open a web browser from the computer that the shoutcast server is running on and open the page http://localhost:9000/content/scpromo.pls, it works like a charm. Any ideas why the web browser call doesn't work from a remote system? |
Ok, no idea why, I changed NOTHING, but it is working now. I just restarted the shoutcast server, which I had done at least 10 times before. The only thing I can think of is that I changed something a while ago and just hadn't restarted the server. hmmmmmmm
