Compressor / Limiter software for line-in
 

Ok, heres a question I’ve yet to find a working answer for…..

I’m using the Winamp/Shoutcast software to broadcast to the net. I’m sending audio into the sound card from a mixing desk, I want to compress/ limit the said audio.

I’ve tried using all sorts of audio compression /limiting software, but when I try to broadcast with them I always get the same message. “error opening sounddev!”

Without resorting to using a piece of hardware, can this problem be solved? Plus if this is possible where can I locate a download that will work?
