Serious Buffer Problems
Please help. Setup: 3 p4 computers, all XP, cable broadband, networked, Linksys cable modem, Vigor 2200E router, Winamp 2.91 - all worked great past 1 1/2 years. Problem: Suddenly (this past Friday) streaming audio from any internet radio station will run fine for anywhere from 2 to about 25 minutes, then just stops. Icon in task bar says " buffer 46%" (the % differs each time). This occurs on all my computers on the network, either as a group or on one running while the others are off. As a test, used WMP and the same thing occurs. In Winamp, if I hit the play buttom, it restblishes the connection, plays for a while, then the same thing. Tried: Cable co. says all ok on their end - I believe them as internet brousing screams & bandwidthplace rates connection as "fantistic." I suspect router: upgraded to latest firmware, rebooted several times, using default settings which always worked b-4. Same problem. Don't understand all this packet stuff. Anyone have any ideas? I will bypass router and see if it works, but location of router etc. makes this a moderate hassle, and am wondering if someone can confirn router problem or ??? Thanks!
