No playback in Winamp 2.x for certain mp3s
 

I’m using winamp 2.91 and for some weird reason am having trouble getting a few mp3s to play. When I load them into the player and try to play them, nothing happens and I get blank stats across my main window with only the title being displayed.

I thought the mp3s might have been corrupt, but I was able to play them just fine in Windows media player. The problem happened once before with a few songs, but they had strange characters in the song title, and after I deleted those the songs seemed to play fine.

These don’t have any odd characters in the song title or the ID3 tags. I only use the standard plug-ins for mp3 and the MAD plug-in, but even when I removed the MAD plug-in the problem continued. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Hey, nice program.

Actually it turned out to be a really old output codec that was lurking around in my plugin folder that I hadn't noticed until after I posted. I deleted it and now all of my files seem to play fine.

Thanks for the help anyway. This mpeg utility will come in handy for some other things. :)
