Do you have permanent connection? When I do shoutcast on my LAN, I just setup my server regulary, but don't make it public. After that, all the computers can connect to it, by using the LAN ip (starts with 192).

http://192.168.0.1:8000 can you get on?

XBL 28th September 2003 13:10

No, I cant (no even without listening ;), this is your LAN ip. To this Ip, people connect within your network. If you want people to listen to you, who are outside of your network (people like me :)), you have to give your *real* ip-adress.

You can find that ip by going to http://www.whatismyip.com

It apears you don't have your server running... can you post the log of your server?

You see constantly:

<09/28/03@14:38:02> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1
<09/28/03@14:38:02> [source] icy-name:Unnamed Server ; icy-genre:
<09/28/03@14:38:02> [source] icy-pub:1 ; icy-br:24 ; icy-url:http://www.shoutcast.com
<09/28/03@14:38:02> [source] icy-irc:#shoutcast ; icy-icq:0 ; icy-aim:N/A
<09/28/03@14:38:34> [source] no data (30s timeout). disconnecting.

And it say's exactly your problem: you haven't given in a name nor a genre.
I don't know for sure, but norton might can give some problems...

Via the DSP plug-in (the source window) > output > yellowpages. There you can fill in the information.

ahh maybe this is it
<09/28/03@15:06:02> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<09/28/03@15:06:02> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 81.129.1.63:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s).
2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine.

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)

Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine?

Please read some polite advice.
