I have both of them, my mother & my father are alive.

My daddy is best daddy in the world, He does his duties (our rest) without any withhold something. I hope God alive him for me forever.

My mother, I can'y say anything about her kindness.

I wish God alive both of them for me FOREVER.:)

what about you? Do you have this rest or not?

will 2nd October 2003 13:45

iomegajaz 2nd October 2003 13:50

ElChevelle 2nd October 2003 13:58

God hasn't been around for quite awhile. We will, however, get him back once he goes into rehab;)

This thread's gonna go about a far as Christopher Reeves on a flat tire.

Nope, sheffield england. Quite far from hell.

Its good that I think hell is something made to scare people into religion.

Gonzotek 2nd October 2003 14:43

If unbeleivers are in hell, and they exist in this world, does that mean that you are in hell too?

I find it amusing that will's current avatar is robot satan. Satan can't exist without god, btw. ;)

I love my parents although they very rarely understand anything at all about my interests.

Mike H. 2nd October 2003 14:45

In ALL religions, nonbelievers go to hell.

Some religions don't have a concept of Hell. Some do and don't automatically place you there if you don't beleive.

Mike H. 2nd October 2003 14:55

Yay, it's another religious debate!

Fencing diamods, fixing cock fights, publishing indecent magazines;
You'll pay for every crime, Knee deep in electric slime,
You'll suffer to the end of time, enduring tortures most of which rhyme,
Trapped for ever here in robot hell!

My father abandoned me and my mother when I was 4, after threatening kidnapping me to my mother because I was his "little boy" and they were splitting up. - My mother later abandoned me on the doorstep of my grandparents' just before going into 1st grade, due to the fact that she was heavy on narcotics and drinking, just as my father had been, and no longer had the ability to support both her dope habit and me. She had to make a choice. - She chose the drugs.

Later on my grandmother and grandfather parted ways, as my grandfather was a verbally abusive, threatening man for some 45 years of the two's marriage. I now live unhappily with my grandmother, who is having an affair behind my grandfather's back, as tho' they are "parted", they are still by all means legally married. - The 30th of this month, or halloween, will mark the one year anniversary of the departure from my grandfather (A great man, despite all the wrongs he did. He no longer drinks or hangs around with the people he used to. And he goes to church every sunday morning, and night, and every wednesday night.), or the legal date that my grandmother can file for devorce, and truly kill him inside. - She cheated on him once before, a long, long time ago. Before I was around. - Had that happened to me, I probably would've become a drunk, too.

---

Also, I'm a 100% non-believer. Why would anyone believe in some fable? In 2000 years we might have people going around believing that J.R.R Tolkiens are factual, and accept a book like "The Silmarillian" As an actual religion. It sounds believable, and educated, so why not accept it as religion, right? That's about how the bible was.

I believe there may be some kind of "greater being". Everything has to have something to set it in motion, though the idea of a greater being also contradicts the same idea. - It all comes down to faith. In which I have not. I feel that if there _is_ a greater being, it is 100% not the one depicted in the bible.

Shit, I believe in reincarnation more than I do a feasible heaven or hell.

Also, the concept of a heaven... what do you think people are going to do in heaven? You think it's going to be a fun place full of what _you_ want to do to be happy? Shit no. It's going to be nothing but a lot of prayer and worshipping. What's the fun of that? If you don't enjoy church, you're probably not going to enjoy heaven.
There aren't going to be video games, and there aren't going to be hot topless babes walking around. Heaven's the equivalent of my mental hell.

Bring on Fire and Burning, baby.

Not even "Billy Graham's Bible Blasters"?

I am sorry to hear about your family situation Fazer. The child pays for the sins of the father(parents), it seems.

My parents are still, amazingly enough, together after 23 years of marriage. They have their ups and downs, but, for the most part truly enjoy the other's company. And after a huge family fight, which I got dragged into(was pretty damn pissed about that), they've come to the conclusion that they were pretty much made for each other:D Their differences in personalities balances out.

Mr_007 2nd October 2003 17:39

Yes i has daddy and mom
and like any two!

NJK 2nd October 2003 17:40

next year my parents are married for 40 years and still happy together- watching them argue about minor things is like watching a comedy on tv-

idynkydnk 2nd October 2003 17:53

I think it's funny that 90% of the world believes in a God.

Oh, and my father lives in another state, the last time I saw him a few years ago. I don't know where my mom lives. I haven't seen her in a few months.

NEVER!!!

WomanOfHeart 2nd October 2003 19:49

I think I have parents. At least, that's what I was told they were.
My dad and I have always been close. I'm his only daughter. My mom and I have only recently become close. I have my oldest son and his lying, can't keep his stories straight father to thank for that! :)

ryan 2nd October 2003 20:03

My parents are still.. living together, but emotionally they are dead. My dad has cheated on my mom numerous times, he's done drugs etc. They're both alcoholics in my opinion. They argue all the time. I'd rather not ramble on about this, as I've posted about it a few times already.

Cylob 2nd October 2003 20:04

My dad disowned me 8 years ago (apparently for being "loopy") and I've never been close to my mum. I have parents but I don't.:( I have a sock puppet to compensate, but my wife doesn't approve (and it's being tormented by the dog).

Well, your wife probably likes ya', and that's good! You also have a
dog, and that is a very good thing!:D
The sock puppet is...

How do nonbelievers go to hell if they don't believe in it though? And if they don't believe in any specific religon, which religon supposedly chooses their "final judgement". Religon is just a state of mind.

Mike H. 2nd October 2003 21:05

What I meant was all religions say nonbelievers go to hell. So if a person believes in a religion, his religion says he will go to heaven, while another one says he will go to hell.

I see.

ujay 2nd October 2003 21:56

Both my parents have died, but this was no more than the natural turn of life.

Unbelievably this makes me the family patriarch, a role I find impossible to take seriously :)
It's great being a Grandad though.

Widdykats 2nd October 2003 22:03

I like how comfortable you are with yourself, ujay!:D

Magic_Midget 2nd October 2003 22:10

I was raised by wolves....;)

Long story short - biological dad got thrown in prison when i was 5 for child abuse and i hope he rots in there. My mom lived life as a stripper and for that my bro and I got ridiculed. I raised myself when I turned 13 and pretty much lived as a loner.....

I'm also 100% non believer, but I take an interest in different religions. I love to study COnfucius and Taoism. They're very interesting.

iomegajaz 2nd October 2003 22:11

Tomato. Hehe.

I'm sorry to hear about everyone's rough home lives. Cylob, thanks for making me smile near the end of the thread (thus far). =)

My parents split when I was 4 - Dad left my Mum, my brothers and me, and headed to England. He came back to Oz a few years later, but he's not a parent - he's the guy that us boys occasionally live with.

C'est la vie. =)

godoncrack 2nd October 2003 22:13

to those who have both of your parents, be thankful
you have no idea how much you really have

My parents are still together after 23 years (I think). They are as happy as every, and I hope that that has a good result on me.
