Progressive Rock.
Which prog-rock albums are in your collection? I'll start with one of my favourites (not listened to for a long time actually):(
Magnum - Kingdom of Madness (1979) :) |
Yes - Yessongs (1973)
TRACKS: Opening Excerpt From "Firebird Suite" 3:45 Siberian Khatru 9:50 Heart Of The Sunrise 11:26 Perpetual Change 14:08 And You And I 10:55 Mood For A Day 3:52 Excerpts From "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" 3:52 Roundabout 8:33 I've Seen All Good People 7:00 Long Distance Runaround/The Fish 13:45 Close To The Edge 18:41 Yours Is No Disgrace 14:21 Starship Trooper 9:25 TOTAL TIME: 2:10:07 (130:07) |
I must get that. I once had a Yes album (90125), it was weird to say the least. The LP must be up in the attic now.
|
not bad knowing that you were only 3 years old at that time (1973) cylob- by the way did the time change in the uk?? end of the summertime?
|
The clocks go forward an hour in about 3 weeks time (usually the last Sunday of October).
|
then they changed the time in these forums because overhere it 12.35 and if i see at the time i post something it's 2.35
|
Interesting. The clocks actually go back an hour soon (not forwards)! I don't know why they don't leave it at GMT.
The time now is 11:40. |
So, what's the best Pink Floyd album.....?
|
Easy, Dark Side Of The Moon.
|
What about Wish You Were Here? It's supposed to be a classic...
|
I rather like The Final Cut, but that's getting more into "written and directed by Roger Waters, performed by Pink Floyd" territory :).
I think I'd probably agree that Dark Side of the Moon was the best (and the last) "real" PF album. |
'Animals' has always been my personal fave.
Awesome lyrics. But I guess most people would go for one of DSotM, WYWH, or The Wall. |
*engages nitpick mode*
Animals was an EP, not an album ;). |
Quote:
I own a copy of the 1977 release "vinyl album". Is there an Animals version out that I do not know about? A CD maybe, not like the original release? |
wish you were here is the best...
also people would not be happy calling Floyd "prog rock".. isn't that Yes, ELP, king crimson etc. |
Weird you people did not mention yet Dream Theater ;) or Symphony X (albiet these two are more Metal, but still) Spock's Beard, Queensryche, Kansas, etc...
