I know D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, but doesn't Drugs Are Really Excellent just sound better? I think it fits the acronym much more naturally than the real meaning, which sounds so forced.

I have to disagree...as I am wearing my SADD T-shirt.

In that case, it's more believeable if a cop says it...I wouldn't trust anyone else if they told me otherwise, since they themselves do teach this stuff to kids... :D

i agree. some of the stuff people are told about drugs in the US are blatant lies. this does not promote making a sensible decision, and encourages you to find out info from other - possibly as biased in the other direction - sources.

I thought SADD was "drunk driving". oh well.

also, I gave up on DARE when I saw my old DARE officer, in the DARE suad car, smoking a cigar. :(

Some police officer that lectured students on drug abuse was found dead from a heroin overdose (that he stole from the police exhibits).

Dare is all about getting kids to tell on thier friends, parents and neighbors, further destroying any sense of Community in America. Reminds me of Hitler Youth, where kids would get so into it they'd lie about their parents and friends when they were angry at them.

SADD was Students Against Drunk Driving but it changed to Destructive Decisions.

Because teenagers are slowly realising that a lot of them are idiots, and making a lot of bad decisions that aren't drunk driving. Like smoking crack. And eating Bleach. And watching Prime-time Television.

Speaking of bleach, don't mix chlorine and break fluid together, or ammonia nitrate with diesel...some people (dumbass teens bout my age) did it here, one of em blew half their face off with the chlorine bomb they were making. And i think the other ammonia one was used for the Bali bombing.
