Really sickening ad.
Yesterday I was watching my school's football game on the TV (no student tickets  ), and during one of the breaks, they showed an ad that almost made me toss my cookies.
It was some hot dog ad, and it is by far the worst thing I've seen in a long time. Worse than an old Pizza Hut ad I saw after eating dinner a few years ago. Anyway, the ad showed some dude eating hot dogs, with a few franks in the boiler, and he was adding topings and eating the franks (what else?). However, it wasn't the display of food that made me feel sick, because I had eaten a couple of hours ago. It was the presentation. The only way to describe it is like this: they made it look as though the guy was having sex with the hot dogs. It was really sickening. No, he wasn't literally doing so, but the lighting, narrator, camer angles and pacing of the ad made it look like a sex scene in some movie. He was picking up the franks, adding topings, and then eating them like it was giving him sexual pleasure! My stomach was doing somersaults because of that commercial. Whoever came up with that one should be shot, beaten, shot again, dragged, and finally lynched. *Shudders involuntarily* |

If that honestly disturbs you, you shouldnt watch TV. I would've laughed at the damn thing.

I like how the Quiznos Commercial with the guy raised by wolves is suckling from the mother was removed. I thought that was quite the funneh!

Sure, that was funny. THe hot dog ad I saw was revolting. Watching someone eat does not make me want to eat.

yeah fickle, i saw that and exclaimed "WTF!"
:D |
I though it was funny how he had his arm curled behind him.

OMG!
I saw the hot dog ad. It's a fookin funny Bud Light spot celebrating the foot long hot dog maker. The whole spot is foot longs flopping around. The guy opening his mouth like he's trying to swallow a half ton pickup is slightly reminescent of a sword swallower but the whole commercial is funny as shit. |

If the only thing they changed about the commercial was the person eating the franks, then yes, I would still find it nauseating. Not offensive, just nauseating . You can't really see much of the person anyway.

PVR owns you. NO COMMERCIALS TO BE FOUND HERE!!!

The guys who make commercials have under the last 150 years used up all ideas, except things about sex in their work. Now most of the (western) world accept such ads without demanding deathsentence on the makers. Everybody laughs at old ads, so every year it's got to be something new. This is the result of it.
But actually the most siccening ad I've heard of was in a local Helsinki newspaper from the 30's or something. It was for a new movie about somebodys adventure in the caribbean or something, and the ad contained the text "the film contains black actors", as a warning to conservatives or maybe was it just a way to make the film exotic. Thank God our community has changed since then! |
Bud Light is responsible for your homophobia:

See, it's not so bad on the radio, but on the TV, I can't stand it. The visual imagery is just too much for me. I think the fact that I cook food for a living has some effect on my feelings, since it always disgusts me how one person can eat enough food to feed three in one sitting.

The only nauseating thing here is thinking of how many different types of mystery meatpackers' floorscraps go into the making of the said franks ... I worked for Canada Packers for 6 years, and let me tell you, I have not eaten franks for almost 15 years now, and doubt any of you would either if you really knew ...
Quite honestly I am surprised that the are allowed to sell them. Some crooked politician years ago must have had a butcher as a financial backer is all I have to say.:weird: (I am assuming that most all brands are made similarly ... the brands I made were SHOPSY'S™ and SCHNIEDERS™) :igor: |
