Polly Jean Harvey :)

She used to open alot for U2 (both being on the Island Label). I always boasted I'd watch Polly and then promptly leave the gig. U2 being a boy band and all that.

Neil Young is my all time hero

A couple of years back Neil played in Rotterdam "ahoy" music hall
a friend of mine was working security than. He let me in early so I could watch the soundcheck. After the soundcheck Neil noticed me and asked me to come closer to the stage. We started talking about lots of things -He realy is a nice guy- Then suddenly he asked me if I played any instruments - told him I play a little piano and drums.
Within a minut we were playing songs like "here we are in the years" and "the Loner" - think we played at least more than one hour. - went backstage to meet the rest of the band "crazy Horse" - during the concert I was a VIP guest backstage.

In may this year Neil played in Amsterdam in the Heiniken music hall - Couldn't afford the ticket this time. it was far to expensive -having to feed a family comes first.

Not to my knowledge. The The's Matt is very lazy, he'll pop up every 5 years with a new album and then crawl back into his cave. Shame, he's among the best.

Xerxes 18th October 2003 10:18

Is there any musical hero more universal than the one and only Ludwig von Beethoven- the man who composed entire symphonies without the faculty of hearing?

The man who, at the end of conducting the performance of his last symphony, had to be physically turned around by the lead violinist towards the audience- to see the Standing Ovation that he couldn't hear?

The Last Waltz!

One of the best "Rockumentaries" Filmed beautifully and edited the same.....Shows the end of an era
Features such greats as The Band, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell,
Neil Young, Ronnie Hawkins, Emmy Lou Harris, The Staple Singers,
and I could go on..... So maybe Martin Scorsese, who always made music important in film....What would Goodfellas be without that score?http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/revi...altz/story.jpg
