my windows media player is messed up.....
 

I can't open it. I click the icon (I've tried the several shortcuts, desktop icon, taskbar button, etc...) but nothing happens. It just waits a second, and then it makes that "chord" sound, and that's it.

Try reinstalling the latest version. OR...switch to a better player (real alternative, zoom, bsplayer)

Well I have real player, but it doesn't play .mov files, it says it needs new software for that, so I try downloading the new software for it and it says there isn't any software for that type of file.

I'll try reinstalling it......I think WMP got screwed up when the blaster and nachi worms infected my computer :(

Sounds like somethings corrupted. Try doing an in place re-install of windows. Backup everything important first though.

Your alternative is to go into control panel > sounds and audio devices > sounds tab > and swap the chord sound for the file you want to play :p

To play .mov files u need Quicktime player!
Can't believe nobody's said that yet.

That happened to me with another program, I just restarted my computer and then it worked.

I use Winamp for my non- .mov and Realone files. Am I the only one?

No. I use Winamp for everything, including MOV & RA. :)

You think my window is messed up, I think my Thursday has been sabatoged. Images just coming out of nowhere and the sounds I'm hearing. I'm not sure if I'm the only one hearing it but I'm sure it's noticable. Why has my eyes been converted to other peoples window. I guess it's just the lack of patience.

It's just motivation. If I 'm creating problems, tuff. Like my life isn't part of a lot of peoples problem anyways. If there wen't any problems what would the world have to fix.

IrfanView 3.80 can run stuff really fast on slow computers, faster then realone, winmedia, winamp...

what version of media player?
if wmp9..then goto start>run>mplayer2.exe

see if that works

You know, the number of people that want help with WMP here is frightening.

I use Quicktime Alternative for MOV and QT files.
But, using WMP maybe is your error :p
