Quality of Albums

CD Sales Volume is simple...

If the record companies put out even halfway decent albums, then people would buy them. No one is going to buy a $15-$20 CD for 1 decent song.

*Note to Record Companies...
Put out albums with 11 good songs... and watch sales skyrocket ;)

Yep, that about sums it up..

zootm 19th October 2003 12:09

i don't own a lot of albums with 11 good songs on them. even albums i'd call "good albums"...

Get Mellon Collie of the Infinate Sadness then!

zootm 19th October 2003 12:18

mellon collie and the infinite sadness doesn't have 11 good songs, but this is hardly the place to be debating it...

I dont agree with that, albums generally consist 70 to 80% of good songs. If you only like one song on it, you either should buy the single or not buy the album at all. Perhaps a good idea is to download a few of the songs before to see if they are good enough.

Theoretically... that's what about 10-20% of downloaders say they're doing... I am one of them... I do buy albums... but only from fellow artists at their shows. Then I know he/she is making the money on the deal... not some tone-deaf exec who's already worth millions. The best bands are the one's who haven't been discovered by Record Companies yet anyway.

I bought Michelle Branches second album after downloading her first. I am happy with the first but disapointed in the second.
