Incorrect listener capacity displayed
I recently had a new server added to the cluster to support 5000 listeners.
When i log into that server, it correctly displays that it's capacity is 5000, however when the station is listed in the directory, it's only showing up 1000 instead of 5000. Any ideas anyone? Thanks |
this is the policy of the directory to only show a max of 1000 for a single SHOUTcast server, if you want the yp to display 5000 listeners/listener max then use relays.

Any ideas why that would be?
I mean, if you've got the bandwidth running into 1 machine, why be forced to split it over 5? Just curious... |
It is not shown for a single DNAS to work reliably with over 1000 connections. It simply wasn't designed for it. That's why they require you to use relays to increase past 1000. It also prevents people from putting in numbers like "18092769827369478" and looking like they are really huge =)
It's a quality of service precaution for the directory. |
1000 users is very cpu intensive! So use relays on the same machine or w/e :D

The DNAS uses very little CPU and memory.
