Know of a download delta program?
 

I'm in the process of doing a bit of a search for a project of mine. I want to know if there are any systems that do the same or similar things to what my project will do. I don't personally know of any that do and haven't heard of any or know what they'd be called if there were any.

The aim is to produce a program that will allow a user to automatically download updates of files from a webserver. Nothing too interesting there, the twist comes in that it will only download the parts of files that have changed. For example it will only download the few lines of a text document that have changed rather than the whole text file that's several hundred kilobytes in size.

So the result will be saved bandwidth, time, money and increased productivity.

Now as I say I don't know of anything that wil let you do something similar, so please shout if you do and post a link if possible.

I KNOW how abouts a program like that would work and look.
As for know if one exists, i don't think anyone has ever had the...
Respect/consideration for people that that would entail.
You would make a nice amount of Benjamins with that.
