That was really harsh, but really funny. I Despise in Boy Bands, atleast Metallica and Guns And Roses can play instruments and write music, boy bonads just sit there like lazy pigs and talk into a microphone.

Id probably choose Metallica, mainly because i have some of there songs and I dont have any Guns And Roses stuff.

But would you consider acquiring any? I'd put money on 'nope'.

taylormemer 5th November 2003 09:09

Nah I wouldnt buy any, not worth it.

Cylob 5th November 2003 09:57

Neither are cutting edge. Entirely disposible then.:p

who was one of the first thrash bands when all the mainstream crap was going on? nope. being one of the first bands to play a style is cutting edge at all

lets just put this to a point now.

Metallica: a band that any cunt with a guitar liked for a while untill they realised that the killer guitar licks and the insano drum fills could only amuse for a little while, and could nevereverever make up for hettfield's incessant, southern grunt: "yeh-heeeaaah" placed at the end of every fucking vocal line in every single fucking song. Furthermore, they became nu-rock, lost all respect from their "old-skool-metal" fans, and failed to gain any from the young, cool, linkin park fans.

Gun's'n'fn'roses: Fan's liked them because they had groove and some apparant culture behind them. Axel never tried to be a man, infact, he wasnt ashamed to scream like a girl, despite the genre that the band was worked into. Slash played blues, wore huge snakes around his neck live, and generally looked cool. Gunners were about image, and they did it well. Trouble is, they refuse to admitt that they have broken up, and instead tried to amuse folk by remaining 3-4 shitty shitty bands instead of one single fucking-a band. They failed miserably.

Both bands failed miserably as they chose to fade away rather than die now (\o/ for neil young), and therefor will never be raised up into the museum of rock greats.

(this rant was provided coutesy of woodstock burbon and coke)

You've said it all sidd.:) At the time of GNR's rise I was into Rush, so each time my young nepthew hailed them as the best thing since sliced bread I tried not to piss myself.

This album:

im 16 and respect them totally. love em or hate em, you said it yourself, killer guitar riffs, insane drum solos, and hetfield, one of the few singers who can growl without screaming. you don't have to like them just give them some credit.

a cute way of saying: "hetfield, a man who seems to only be able speak in a growl, no matter how hard he tries to actually sing."

While on the short topic about Metallica, I just realized something..."I Disappear" was one of the last studio projects Jason Newstead helped with before he left Metallica just about 4 years afterwards...

How ironic... ;)

k_rock923 6th November 2003 20:52

that was a good song! its also the only one they ever made for a movie

So......you aspire to be a miserable failure?

sidd 6th November 2003 22:43

er.. no.
When i started, the gunners were still one.
Slash was still playing at his peak.
'twas a great time to be in the world.

Now is a different story. Slash would be well out of my top 100 idols.
