Audigy2.....5.1 channels through stereo mixes?
Hello everyone,
I've got an Audigy2 and the Klipsch Pro media 5.1's. Here's my issue, even if i select directsound..i only get 2 channels on my stereo mixes. Are there any plugins or such that'll upmix my stereo mixes to 5.1 by mirroring the front channels on the back and mixing the R and L to a center channel..meanwhile filtering out low frequencies for the sub channel or any other way i could get 5.1 through my stereo mixes? thanks for the help :) |

hey mate thanks, but that still didnt solve my problem, direct sound is set as output, my primary device is the audigy2, in multimedia panel 5.1 speaker setup is rigged... i also dont get 5.1 audio with Winmediaplayer my speaker setup and card is fine (works fine on other sound cards)..it's something at a software level with this stupid creative card..any ideas? ..btw Dx9b

Go into the Audigy mixer and set the speakers to 5.1 there.
It's probably set to stereo, which overrides whatever is set in Windows Multimedia CP. |
hm, i wish it were that easy..but i also set that the stereo...i tried A3d audio plugin..but still not working..i've returned an audigy2 because of this problem but the problem persists with the new card...fresh install of xp doesnt fix anything either, is it a directx9 issue?

The kx Drivers seem to work well and fix a lot of problems with Creative's bad drivers:
