I'm trying out winamp3 skins for the first time

it's pretty cool

I don't know why people make all these really awkward skins though.

Like that one that looks like an airplane, where are you supposed to put that?

iomegajaz 3rd November 2003 22:28

Up the top of your screen, with either "Bliss" or "Clouds" as you desktop pic. Obviously. =D =P

I downloaded winamp 5 beta, and having not downloaded winamp since about version 2.62, I really really like the modern skin. It looks leet. =)

Germ 3rd November 2003 22:31

Okay so tell me this: Why are you a moderator of the winamp forums when you hardly ever use Winamp, jaz?

idynkydnk 3rd November 2003 22:34

I really like the new default skin too

iomegajaz 3rd November 2003 22:34

What has Winamp got to do with this forum set? =)

Germ 3rd November 2003 22:35

Uh, everything? Without winamp, none of this would be here.

idynkydnk 3rd November 2003 22:41

What's with the gold stack skin too

Why is it the second most downloaded skin?

There's like 700 things packed into the skin so you can't see anything.

iomegajaz 3rd November 2003 22:42

Germ: I'm just going to leave that one alone. Feel free to start a thread, or PM me, about it.

idyknsynkdyundky: Have you stretched the Main window out to the right? The vis thing does this stereo look dealy.. very nice. =D

The only v3 skins I've ever used are CornerAmp, and some "MXP" or something one, which camouflages itself into the XP Silver titlebar. For work. =)

I like the Winamp5 default skin as well. The only Winamp3 skin I use is MMD3. On a related note, Germ is a tool. :p How, in all your infinite wisdom, did you gather that he doesn't use Winamp much from that post? The way I took it was that he was still using an older version of Winamp. On another related note, good God Germ, you're a tool. :blah:

cyu 4th November 2003 01:09

all i have noticed, is that ppl try to pack winamp3 skins full of chrome effects, but it works.

Germ 4th November 2003 01:30

Trust me, I know jaz's winamp experience. He didn't even know what Winamp 5 was until recently. Totally dubious to what everyone else apparently knew. He lives in a box at the bottom of the ocean that happens to be covered with doo doo. And I'm not a tool. If you want to see a tool I will show you one. Freak.

iomegajaz 4th November 2003 01:34

Name-calling. That's how a mod likes to see a thread end up.

LOL do you mean it works in spite of the shitty metallic chrome effects, or because of them? =)

randman 4th November 2003 01:44

I'll apologize so we can put this behind us and get the thread back on track. Germ, I'm honestly and sincerely sorry you're such a tool. Really. I mean that from the bottom of my irritable bowels.

Germ 4th November 2003 01:45

haha Rock on.

Well I hear a lot of people who just looks at those skins and go: WOOOOOOOOOOOO.... PREETTYY SHINNEYY ME LIKE.

papadoc 4th November 2003 03:08

I never used WA3.
But WA5 is giving me a chance to check out some of the WA3 skins.
Personally I don't see to many I like, because I've never been into skins much.
I got the Gold Stack tonight too.
Taking some time to figure it out.
Pretty cool

The default WA5 skin took some getting used to, but I like it

FYI - there's a large community of skinners and ex-skinners who find that comment very gratifying. :) Danke, it's always nice to know there's a potential market for the other stuff out there.

Bob the Tomato 4th November 2003 03:54

If you're tyring WA3 skins for the first time, download MMD3. Probably the single best WA3 skin ever made. Not so good on WA5, since the Thinger window doesn't show the preferences button.

idynkydnk 4th November 2003 06:42

yeah MMD3 is by far the best

I just wanted to try some others, but none compete

How would you know if you hadn't tried them? or are you basing your comment on looks alone?

Krynis 4th November 2003 21:08

MMD3 is ok Invicta is great but right now im really loving a beta for a skin called Anexa (its a @#%@ load of features packed into awsome gfx with one of my fav artists collabing with one of my fav coders how lovely :) )
