It's weird that my mom loves this song.

Is it right to base relationships on looks? I mean, what is it that attracts you to the people you are with (or want to be with)?
Or, adversly, is the song right? Is it really better to be with an ugly girl?

My stepdad always says ugly chicks try harder.

My family is sooo fucked up.

I would not agree that it's a good idea to marry an ugly person. First of all, you should marry someone YOU think is beautiful. Other people might say she's ugly, so good for them.

Looks are only one part, but whether you can get along with the person plays a huge part. Sometimes people can marry a knockout and get along great and have no problems.

I know that song...physical attraction usually plays a lot for most people initially because the average person is quite shallow. I think the song addresses the potential for infedility with most of the average folks. I for one think phenotype can always be modified. Go with the one that has some sort of code (not very readily found in this life eh?) and you can sit next to, say nothing for hours and still know what the other is thinking. If she's bad looking, you can always fix that later...it goes both ways there though.
(Stepdad has a point there....but not a general statement.)

I don't consider myself to be that bad looking personally, but... I think I try pretty hard in relationships. Regardless of looks, I think you should put the whole you forward when you're involved with someone else.

But hey, that's just me.

I was kind of digging the Sig picture there White Raven. It was cool.

I was just raising the question. I don't really agree with the song, mainly cause I like to be able to look at who I love with out aid of smoke and mirrors.

I've never been one to base my relationships on society's standards of attractiveness. My sis kinda drives me nuts on this point. She's picked at a few of my exes for not being "cute". Whatever. Sometimes I just feel like shouting at her "looks aren't everything!"

It's a guy's intelligence that I lust after :D

Well, maybe I'm not a genius, but...point I'm trying to make---personality is a lot; arrogant people have trouble even if they're smart.
