The title is a quote from A Clockwork Orange Directed y Stanley Kubrick. The book was better, but that's okay. Here's the point:

Is life truly getting more violent? Do video games and movies and media cause it alone, help cause it, or are they just simply a reflection of civilisations downward spiral? Are we digressing back to the days where we beat each other over the things we own, ostrasize people for being different, kill for another persons mate?

Or have we never really changed, just hid our real selves behind a mask?

Games, TV and music have absolutly nothing to do with the idiocy of people.

If someone does something stupid and say that a game/movie/song said they can do it, do you honestly think they were OK in the head to BEGIN with?

As Alfred E. Neuman said, "Most people don't act stupid... it's the real thing."

And as George Carlin said, "... and SOME people are fucking stupid!"

Okay, I knew by mentioning the media I would get the standard "guns don't kill people, people kill people" jive only with guns=video games. That is not what I was asking. What I'd like to know is if we're really all savage underneath, and if video games are a reflection of this, but more along the lines of are we really so civilised?

I consider myself fairly civilized, i've only been in one fight since adulthood, and that was with a guy who had beaten up my cousin.

Yes, we're civilized, more so than we've evern been, but we still cant controll our primal urges.

We know its wrong to do certain things, yet we want too because of the thrill behind it, so it has to come out some way. And what better way than to do it legally.
