Cradle Of Filth can be quite crap at times.

They sound crap from their name alone.

Yer the singer is way too "sillypants" for me.
Sillypants is a term I use when something is rediculously stupid...

I have another name for it............ 'moron'.

Their cover of hallowed be thy name is a force to be reckoned with though.

Nick Carter sucks. BSB sucks. All boy bands suck. Plain and simple.

It's not the greatest of sounds but by no means is it nu-metal. Their newer stuff seemed to edge a little that way but they can actually play the guitar, i refer you to the cover of hallowed be thy name. And even though the vocals can be really low and scratchy but can instantly switch and add high pitched screams

It doesn't sound too pleasent but combined with the drumming, keyboard, and guitars it makes for better listening than all nu-metal i've ever heard.

Their newer stuff is a tad cheesy though. See the cover of midian:

I like some metal bands like mudvayne and marilyn manson, but cradle of filth makes my skin crawl. they sound like nails on a chalkboard.

With some bands that's the intention - to shock with 'nails on the chalkboard' noise. Bah!

It takes Cradle of Filth an hour to write a so-called song. It only takes me 0.5 seconds to press delete. Probably another 3 or 4 seconds to empty the recycle bin...

Well yeah, Marilyn Manson and MudVayne are shock rockers, but also have talent. I don't mind the 'shock' aspect if they sound good. :D

I think Cannibal Corpse is pretty damned crappy. Gotta think of some more.
