Hair Coloring - Your Opinion

If you've been reading the "post yer pic" thread latley, you'd know that I've gone and dyed my hair blonde (it being the holidays and all). my mum was pretty cool with this, but i've been noticing a few strange stares from people when I walk around town (espically the older people) and even a few comments. So what are your views on hair dying?

MidnightViper88 1st December 2003 23:10

As long as it's a natural color (Black, blonde, brunette, red, white, etc.), I think it's OK...I find it odd when people dye their hair the other colors of the rainbow, but whatever they like, I guess... ;)

Then again, I did have some crazy idea recently about growing my hair out, and putting dark blue streaks in my hair...But now, I'm still thinking "Nah"... :D

Doesn't bother me. It's just hair, something to keep your scalp from getting sunburned.

Atmo 1st December 2003 23:27

I went through blonde, bright red, purple, blue, green, black and orange in 18 months, 3 or 4 years ago.

I dont color my hair anymore, but if someone wants to have bright pink (or whatever) hair, who are we to judge them?

MidnightViper88 1st December 2003 23:28

You'll never/hardly see me out in public without a hat on, so what my hair looks like doesn't matter to me... ;)

Raz 1st December 2003 23:47

If i really cared what others thought of my hair they wouldn't be judging it.

I can't be bothered with all the hassle just to uphold some cheap image myself.

What Atmo said, but with a few variations. I had checkered patterns, and some different colours. Do it if you want to. =)

i dont need to dye my hair.
i have dark blone hair, with natural highlights. :)
i think i would feel weird with a different color hair. i dont mind if other people do it, some its an improvement, some its not.

EnDurA 2nd December 2003 04:33

not all of us have your luck s1138. iused to have natural blonde hair, but yeah, it faded =/

squall14716 2nd December 2003 04:34

If you feel like it, go ahead. I want to dye my hair dark blue (well, with the stuff that comes out after a few weeks at least) just to do it. ;)

ScorLibran 2nd December 2003 06:08

Whatever people want is fine with me. And if someone wants to express themselves with wild hair-coloring, I'm all for it! The carpet doesn't have to match the drapes, you know.

I've got brown hair, and I've always had brown hair...don't know if I'll ever change it. Starting to get "Mel Gibson gray" on the sides (just a few hairs right now, but it's starting to go). I think I'll leave it unless it hurts my dating opportunities. If it does, then maybe I'll dye it all blonde. ;) (I'd be an airplane-blonde, though :D ...and I'd have to shave my beard/moustache...)

remember the ska music ( madnes etc two tone label) al was in black and white in those days - my hair also white at the side of my head and a black part at the top-
came home - (was 15 years old ) and my dad made me wash my hair long enough to get it out.

cmountford 2nd December 2003 07:09

I think hair color is a way to express yourself, so whatever hair color expresses yourself as you want to be viewed is good as far as I'm concerned.

Pretty much, as long as you're happy with your hair---cool

Timzone8 2nd December 2003 09:11

Alas, us youngens are still in high school(aus) and it's against school policy to dye your hair an unatural color. Personally I'm happy with my hair but don't mind others changing there hair color, It's THEIR hair...they can do wtf they like with it :p

I considered going blue once, but I never got round to it. WHen I finished 6th form, me an my friends were going to do a Nullsoft and die our hair different colours.

Mrs B is considering dying hers black with red or purple streaks

Blondes have more fun!

I color my boys hair at times. My oldest son has been a red head, blonde and brown (natural) with blonde hilights.

My opinion is if someone wants to color their hair then let them. It is how you feel about yourself not what others feel about you.

I dyed my hair blond once... Came out some kind of weird orange color. I had to go to a hairdresser to get it fixed!
I don't mind how a person dyes their hair. It's a part of who they are.

Curious to know... how do others feel about long hair on a man/woman?

ScorLibran 2nd December 2003 11:37

Any hair length on any person is fine with me. I don't judge people based on hair length. I only judge them based on body odor. :D

But seriously, I've had many hippie- and biker-type of friends over the years, many of whom had long hair. Mine used to be just past my shoulders until Wife 1.0 made me cut it, then I let it grow again after Wife 2.0 was gone. I prefer it short now...too damn hot in GA for long hair.

I'll be happy to keep my hair.. :D

missyob 2nd December 2003 14:25

I like hair. Hair can be very sexy. I like long hair on some guys. It all depends on how they wear it. I also think some bald guys are pretty sexy. My friends dad is bald and he is pretty hot.

I wanted to color my hair........ only as an experiment........but mom says"no":(

AngelPHiSH 2nd December 2003 17:05

Whatever gets your goat bebbeh

zootm 2nd December 2003 17:43

seeing as the right hand half of my hair is blonde and the left hand half is natural (brown), i'd be a bit hypocritical to look down on people for dying their hair :)
