Empty Album Tag becomes Artist Name
I have been using Winamp 2.91 for a while now, and I love the library. It's lightweight and well laid out.
One thing that has been bugging me is that whenever I leave an empty Album tag on my files, the library automatically makes the Album tag the same as the Artist name. I 'spose this would be useful sometimes, but I would like to turn it off. I am busily adding Album+Year tags to the MP3's in my library, and when all the songs that don't have Album tags show up as the Artist, it makes it much more difficult for me to find which songs are missing Album info. I recently switched to 2.95, but I noticed this feature/bug is present in that version also. Thanks! sv3n |
That's probably because the ML defaults to "guessing" the artist names + albums. Go top options + prefs -- > ML to change it.

Yea, the first thing I looked for was an option that had to do with guessing, but I have not been able to find this option you speak of. When I open up the 'Library' options in the Preferences screen, I see two tabs: "General" and "Internet Radio", and neither have any options that have anything to do with guessing...
Is there a screen I am missing? sv3n |
