[shoutcast] doesn't connect from outside
 

Hi there, I have a strange problem. First, let me explain the situation. I have to computers connected to an adsl-router. My computers just have a local IP and my router has a firewall. I installed shoutcast on one pc, portmapped 8000 and 8001 on my firewall, editted the ini and run the shoutcast server and it worked! At least for a few days. After I went away for a week I tried to run it again, didn't work. The server itself works perfectly. No errors and trying to broadcast, but somehow noone can connect. I tried to reinstall the ports 8000 and 8001, I also made my shoutcast server computer the devserver for my router, but nothing. And now I'm desperate. I just don't know what to do anymore. So, is there anyone with a bright idea, or is there anyone with the same configuration who can help me dealing with this problem. Thnx in advance!

Have you connected a source?

Shoutcast is running, but it's not broadcasting anything because Shoutcast is not recieving it from Winamp.

Look for a line like this in the log.

This is the problem. But how can I solve this? And why is this happening all of the sudden?

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s).
2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine.

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)

Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine?

This is my NAT list from my router. Can someone tell me what is wrong here? The *'s I put in ofcourse ;)

Didn't I do that with index 3 and 4?

I'm not familiar with your particular router configuration.

Would the additional entries on lines 15-16 cause problems?

oh sorry, that's because I'm not online at the moment (at work, give me another 90 minutes :D ). The radiotoolbox site didn't work this morning, but it's running now I c. I'll check it out. Those additional lines I thought might be the problem. But if I delete all these :8000 and :8001 addresses and add only indx 3 and 4 the other ones comes up itself. So I guess it should be there. I might try deleting only those 2.

It is working! And I feel soooo ashamed! The only thing I did before it stopped broadcasting was working on my network. And somehow it automatically added a mark with my internet firewall on my computer! Got rid of the mark and it worked like a charm.
