Clustering Servers to Stream to more people

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you knows how i can cluster two or more computers to shoutcast to a wider audience?? Does it have something to do with the relay server and relay port configurations of the DNAS??
Another question.......when one logs on to the Shoutcast DNAS Admin page and an ip is listed with an underrun of 1, what does that mean? What do the underruns mean with respect to the DNAS admin page?? Holla at me.

Yes.. You will have to set up relays to cluster. I'm not sure that I understand what you're asking about the server and port.

I don't know what underrun means, actually. Try doing a SHOUTcast forum search.

Hint: I found this thread.

A cluster is simply two or more instances of the DNAS broadcasting the same thing. The cluster to appear to be one large server when in actuality they are a group of smaller servers. To setup a cluster source one instance of the DNAS like you always have and then in another instance set the RelayPort and RelayServer to the port and IP of the first instance mentioned above.

An underrun is when a client runs out of audio data in their buffer. On the listeners end this will cause a skip and is due to lack of bandwidth. If it is an isolated incident then there is not much to worry about since however if every listener has these then you are most likely exceeding your capacity or have some network problems.

Ok so is this what you are saying??

For example i have server 1 broadcasting some songs on shoutcast. When i set the relayport and the relay server of the other server, do i also have to play some kind of stuff on the second server or does it just automatically act as more server room for the server 1?? Holla back.

yes it should automatically detect it and cluster by itself.
