winamp troubleshooting
 
hi everyone and any1 uhm am having issues with my winamp player it seems to be on perpetual fastforward so when i click play it doesnt actually play songs it just scrolls thru all d songs on d playlist til it stops.
pleez help!!

This is because the playlist is pointing to songs that aren't there or can't be opened.

Best solution is to add all your music to the Media Library - press Alt+L to bring it up, then Library (bottom right) and Add Media to Library. Once all your media is added, you can sort, browse and create new playlists easy as anything.

Have you enabled the diskwriter by accident?

CTRL+P > Preferences > Output > highlight either Directsound output (for win 2k/xp systems) or waveOut output (for 9x/me systesm)

You might also want to search your hard drive for any huge .wav files that diskwriter might have created for you, the default location for these files is usually c:\

If that's not the case, have you moved the location of any of your files?, when I re-read your questions, sounds like the playlist is trying to play files that are no longer present, this usually happens if you delete of move the location of files on your pc.

Clear your playlist CTRL+ N and re-add files to it and see what happens.
