I have two albums here. |
 Remember, the JAMC are the foundation-stone of many a band. Without them, the 90's could've been a pafetic wasteland (rather like the 2000's are now).:D
That's what happens when great bands are buried in sand.:( |

i still need to buy Bon Jovi - Crossroad (the Greatest Hits) to finish my Bon Jovi collection, then im going to seek out Ritchie Sambora's solo albums, cus he rocks.
I need to get Feast On Scraps by alanis as well, but the hardest thing i want to do now is get all the sting/police albums. i've only got 4 :p edit: i just noticed you said Take That apola. thats the last straw. i've held back on boyband comments, because you got so many, but they just suck. im mean completely. my sister (who was all into boybands and stuff) only pretnded to like them because she wanted to be friends with someone who was a big fan or something. she bought all the merchandise, but none of the music! please, dont buy anymore of their records...please (and gary barlow, what a tosser) |
@ outlaw Jim welcome to the club
want to add a lot of curve ( thanks cylob for pointing me in the right direction) and rush |
lol, actually, i think i was being a little harsh, i was just in a bit of a bad mood about boybands in general, my friend ashliegh was going on about westlife or something. anyways, im sorry apola, but teake that are just pants. but i stand by gary barlow being a tosser :p
|
you should have seen yesterdays episode of "never mind the buzzcocks" martin was on a roll yesterday he made jokes about westlife all the time and at the end of the show he apologized for everything he said and ending with that it hasn't happened yet.
nearly wetted my pants laughing. |

Plans for 2004:
Pink Floyd ... Got 16 albums so far: all the studio albums, plus Relics and Echoes (compilations). Want the Shine On boxed set (when I've got $270 to spend on it  ). Then the live sets. Then all the solo work by Roger, Syd, Nick, David and Richard. Then Storm Thorgerson's books. Liz Phair ... Got all her normal album releases, plus 4 bootleg discs (all the demos). Need Juvenilia (EP), and that's about it. No new tracks on it for me except Animal Girl and her cover of The Vapors Turning Japanese (the rest is stuff from the Girlysound sessions, which I already have). But I need this one anyway. ;) Rush ... Got 10 albums. Need the other 248. :igor: The Cure ... Got Galore and Staring At The Sea, need all the "real" albums. L7 ... Got Bricks Are Heavy. Lost two others I had. Want them all. Everything Kathleen Hanna ever recorded. Collections I've already completed (not counting bootlegs): The B-52's, Hole, The Police, Led Zeppelin. |

my uncle has every rush album. i have about half of them :)
|
I have the lot, all 248.:) Every one excellent, every one.
|
248, how is that possible/??
|
Some work-rate eh! What amazes me is how all 248 are top-drawer. I suppose 'Counterparts' is dodgy in places, but the good tracks on it are GOOD....
|
What is the average number of songs for each album, coz 248 albums baffles me.
|
Depends. In their prog-rock phase some albums only had 4 tracks, but some were 20 minutes a piece. Monoliths...
Mid 80's onwards the albums were like everyone elses - 10 x tracks about 3-5 minutes in length. |
*faints*

Cylob
To me, ethereal pop is maybe what you call "dream pop" yourself : usually soft/pop tunes with crystalline or enchanting female vocals, I would rank Cocteau Twins and Hooverphonic in that genre. What is dreampop ? :) |
To me, (as music ain't black and white), anything that resembles either My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive is 'dreampop'. There are legions of bands modelled on them (and a thriving US scene right now). In addition to the MBV/Slowdive sound, anything ethereal is also dreampop (such as the Cocteaus). It's just convenient for me to pigeonhole them there.
Then you have 'ambient pop' (from Stereolab to Saint Etienne). I class Hooverphonic here. I don't like the term 'trip-hop', frankly it sucks..... Portishead are 'ambient pop' to me, NOT trip-hop. It's amazing how many bands (US and British) derive their sound from MBV, Slowdive or Stereolab.... It keeps me awake at night thinking about it.:p |
i finished buying all the michelle branch albums that are out! (only two :p) but its still a finished thinger, along with the strokes (also only two albums :P) i guess they dont count :p i just dont have the money for cds anymore (spent my last £12 on the spirit room)
|
I'd like to get my hands on all the Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival hybrid SACD's. I haven't started but I probably will in a month or two.

I didn't mention some of the artists/bands whose whole collections I have that are only a few albums (or less), like Natalie Imbruglia, Nina Gordon, Vanessa Carlton, Norah Jones and Garbage. Doesn't make them any less great, though. With these artists I consider it "getting in on the ground floor". ;) |
The Who complete up to Quadrophenia (1973). No point in going beyond that point really, 1974 is glam-rock territory (mods are out)!
The Who Sings My Generation A Quick One (Happy Jack) The Who Sell Out Magic Bus Tommy Live at Leeds Who's Next Quadrophenia Thin Lizzy - The Greatest Hits will suffice.:) Moves swiftly on to Pink Floyd.:) |
Scor : who's the woman in your avatar ? I think I've already seen her but can't put a name on her face.
|
Quote:
Before the change it was Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly, Cheaper By The Dozen). Now it's Alyson Hannigan (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, American Pie). @taylor: Rush doesn't actually have 248 releases. I was just kidding, but they do have a lot of albums if you're trying to collect them all. Here are most of them, but I'm sure there are some bootlegs and what not that might not be listed. |
Why did you have to tell him! You've ruined my fun.:(
