Try a different one.
If it is you check your computer manafacture's website for updated sound card drivers. You can add it as a bookmark by hitting Alt-I. Bookmarks are accessible in the Main Menu and in the Media Library. |
you might have the Signal Processing Studio DSP plugin active with the 'massive speederupper' enabled. Just a guess

Channel? Shoutcast Radio or NSV Internet TV ?
Is it only happening with this one 'channel'? If so, then it's the stream to blame. If it's happening with all streams, then for Winamp: Prefs -> Plugins -> DSP/FX -> select 'none' Still happening, it can only be your sound card drivers to blame. This kind of problem uses affects poor quality onboard sound chips under Win2k. Naturally, if you provide all relevant system specs (pc or motherboard make/model, sound card/chip, windows os, DirectX version) then we may be able to help you. |
I had teh same sort of problem just now - which is why i was searching the forums for the problem - and did a few things along teh way....
on a "new" IBM netvista PC I just got for my daughter. model 6578 - integrated AC 97 audio on intel 810/815 mobo (driver was Intel 82801BA/BAM AC97 type 2445), OS win 2K (sp4 build 2195), direct X 9.0b winamp played at the wrong pitch, and faster on both streams and MP3s (I did an interesting comparison to my own PC, side by side, on teh same stream from winamp.com, and on teh "new" PC it played at the higher pitch in a shorter time!). interestting that windows media playet (v 9) and REALOne didn't have teh same problem... I updated to the latest IBM drivers, no effect. then i did an "update driver" using teh windows wizard in device manager. it reckoned that teh soundMAX driver was a better match - which it was, and fixed the problem in winamp (& teh others still play properly!)...
