Poetry on the Spot
I started writing recently. I call it poetry simply to explain it best i can...but it is not poetry. It is simply writing as i think..not trying to make it rhyme unless it jumps into my mind, just writing to write. Try it, its fun. Just write something. Who cares if it sucks or is stupid or doesn't represent you as you would like it to. Just do it
Crazy is the horse as it screams in fear Seeing the demon who comes to destroy it. Jerking but locked by its seven barred chains it cannot escape from the evil stalker for the demon lies within and it cannot run it stands next to one who stands calmly and free unkowing or unaware, envious nonetheless but as the winged takes flight there is no escape to wake from a dream and be paralyzed in fear but to stand your ground and not rely on the false is to begin to understand the meaning of your thoughts so far away but so very near i can feel the presence but must first control and i lose the control when i ignore the cries of my soul Haha, a fucking wierd dream i had written right there. Ever have wierd dreams? Make stupid poems out of them with me :) |
Arts & Design
You may want to have a mod move this thread over in that forum. That's where you'll get your work looked at the most. :) |

Hey, it's what makes it A&D... =P
Most of my poetry in there is written on-the-spot, right there in the chair at these forums. But, some of them I've written down beforehand. |
Ha, thanks. Didn't even notice there was a forum for that - lol. I"ll pay more attention to my clicking next time.

actually, your work IS freeform poetry. Poetry is easy to define in a dictionary, but to capture the essence of poetry it takes so much more.
Poetry is like capturing feelings and putting them together in a way totally unlike normal writing...trust me, your work IS poetry. I thought Arts & Design was stricly like art/graphic design sorta stuff---not poetry. Still what's wrong with GD? <ducks to avoid thrown objects> Really though, GD obviously excludes AVS, Shoutcast, & winamp technical support stuff along with some other categories like skin design & the like, NSIS, etc. Just a thought, what if we just accepted it when people post stuff that to them seems like general material (not related to Winamp in any way; that in my mind is what someone who was relatively new to Winamp forums would think.) When I read "Arts & Design: A general forum for the artistic people in the forums. Design, graphics, art, avatars and other shiny objects"--->I think graphics, art, avatars & other shiny objects. If in the description it included poetry, it might make more sense, but why not just leave poetry in GD b/c it appears the way the A&D forum started out was for graphics & avatars & the like, then some people just started posting poetry...that is what someone who's never been in the A&D forum would think. Hey, btw Rehpot, I liked your work :). I almost feel inclined to refer to an article about a poet I've personally met who I found most inspiring...maybe I will soon. His name is Yevgeny Yevtushenko. He's a Russian poet whose works have been translated into English (he knows English well enough to speak, but sometimes has the help of English-speaking poets/translators to help get the poetic feel as closely in English as it can. He teaches at the University of Tulsa, and I saw the article about him in the local paper and he visited my school. He also has ties in New York. |
