is randomize "stuck" on?
i just got the latest winamp. i created a playlist and when i double click to load it, it plays random tracks even though 'shuffle' is turned off. i cannot select a particular song from this playlist or even the general media library. if i do, it randomly grabs another song. help! and thanks!

Did you install Winamp 5.01 on top of an old Winamp 2.x version or (god forbid) on top of Winamp3 ?
ie. was this a clean install? Have you installed any 3rd-party plugins? Or if you installed on top of an older Winamp 2.x version, were there any 3rd-party plugins already installed in the Winamp\Plugins folder? Sounds like a very strange problem you've got there. Never seen or heard anything like that happening before. If shuffle is off . . . then . . . shuffle should be off :igor: and the playlist should play through each entry in order (1,2,3,4...) nope this was not a clean install. i have no idea what version i had before...when i heard the upgrade to 5 was available i downloaded it and then installed it. yeah, this is a weird thing...i double click on the playlist to load it, and it skips down five songs, then it will skip down two and so on. even if i try to play a song without the playlist it does this...and no, no plug ins of any kind. maybe i should uninstall/reinstall?

Uninstall and reinstall would probably be a good idea... just out of curiosity, though, did you move any of the mp3s in the playlist? If you renamed folders they are located in, moved the songs to a different directory, or renamed the songs themselves, the playlist will "skip" thos songs and won't be able to play them, because it can't find them.
Try creating a new playlist and see if the problem still occurs. |
