Is there are plug-in for this...

Was just wondering if there is a way to use a microphone via winamp? Did a search and couldn't find any thing. If so can it also be used via winamp's disc write output feature?

thnx much in advance :)

try this:

http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/.../linein180.exe

It's a line-in plugin for Winamp 2/5 by Jasper van de Gronde. winamp.com's version is a slightly older one. Use the instructions provided for an awesome microphone experience. Hope this helps!

emm thanks for that, jmatthews112. Call me a dubious bugger though but as It's a download away from 'home' territority so to speak any more info on it?

Any one know of any reviews etc I can check out before I try it? just a cautious bugger is all..:)

hmmm.....seems I may have been right to be dubious...Impatience obviously overcame caution and I installed yon gizmo.
I go to select plug-in/select that (after checking that in_mic.dll is not in the plug-ins folder. (Said to do so, so I did --it wasn't there so all fine by me)

Anyway No interface or any thing---you get this config. box which is little or no help....

any one have any pointers?....go's of to visit the guy's web-site....may be easier......

<edit> can't get his support site to load....refreshed at least 4-5 times....and you wanna see the read me file  of to figure all this out ....doesn't seem to be a cotrol interface though...

I just tried the LineIn plug-in Online Documentation and was able to connect.

Anyways, here are some basic pointers...

- To use, right click on the "Eject"/Open button and select 'Open URL...' (or just use Ctrl+L). In the Open URL box type line:// (not Winamp's default linein://) and press Enter.

- Make sure the Windows mixer controls are set correctly.

1. Double click on the little speaker icon and make sure mute for Microphone and/or Line In are checkmarked. That will prevent echoes from being overheard from the speakers.

2. In the Recording Control (Options > Properties > bullet/select Recording)
make sure Microphone or Line In are checkmarked in the 'Show the following volume controls:' box
OK button > select Microphone or Line In respectively in the Recording mixer control

If you are able to conntect to the online docs, the mixer control settings are described here.
