Why Doesnt Video Work?!?!?!
 

okay, ive looked around as far as codecs and i have all necessaryy (basic) codecs installed, but when i click play, the desktop does a "refresh" (like when you right click) and nothing happens. video player box doesnt even come up. its worked in the past, so i got completly rid of the codecs that '98 comes with and re-installed them, ive reinstalled winamp, installed windows media player 9, everything my little mind can think up. can someone help me? thanks. oh yeah, i dont get any error messages, no sound, no video, no nothing... by the way, sorry about the cross-thread. just ignore my last post. :) mods, just delete the last one. thanks.

amd k6-2 333mhz
256mb ram
30gb hd
8mb on-board video

bah im forgetful. okay, the problem arised when i downloaded a dj tips video. after i restarted my computer that night, it just completly quit working. read above to understand what i mean. and ive already tried the method provided in a previous thread. doesnt work. ive also upgraded directx to directx 9.0, and still nothing. i also tried upgrading winamp to winamp 5 and it doesnt work and i tried downgrading to 2.91, doesnt work. thing is, NO video works period. not even in windows media player. read above about what i did with the codecs. anyone have any ideas why?
