where is m3u file after ripping?
I read FAQs and did lots of combination searches for m3u and rip[ping], but could not find the answer.
In the ripping options, I have checked to create both a library file and an m3u file. I assumed this meant that each time I rip, an m3u file is created and stuffed either in the ripping subdirectory or one level higher. However, I cannot find any m3u files created after ripping anywhere on the hard drive. I would very much like an m3u file for each album ripped. Is this possible, and what have I done incorrectly? Thanks much! Steve |

Did you set the parameters (path & filename)?
Prefs -> CD Ripping -> Playlist Generation: eg. <Artist>\<Album>\Playlist\<Artist> - <Album> Example playlist filename: U2\The Joshua Tree\Playlist\U2 - The Joshua Tree.m3u It should be wherever you specify. Works perfectly fine for me anyway... |
Thanks for the reply. I cannot get this to work. FWIW, I'm running on XP Pro.
Here's my setup: Prefs -> CD Ripping --> Output File Setup destination: C:\Documents and Settings\Steve West\My Documents\My Music\winamp_mp3s naming: <Artist>\<Album>\<Title> Prefs -> CD Ripping -> Playlist Generation: <Artist>\<Album>\<Artist> - <Album> The mp3 files show up as expected, but there is no m3u file Steve |
probable m3u creation bug in 5.01 pro
Hi DJ Egg,
I did some more looking into this failure to create an m3u list from the CD burn, and I think I've found a bug in 5.01 pro. If I rip every song from the album, an m3u list is created. If I rip "selected tracks", no m3u list is created (or pls list for that matter). Steve |
