'tis strange
ok now I know this is has been posted a lot, but I get duplicate entries in my media library. There are no playlists in my music directory, I don't have different mp3 decoders. And It's not all of the songs, its only some of them. Also they don't exist in duplicate on my hard drive.
p.s. on a different note after a (long) while of playing winamp 5 seems to randomly crash. |
wow this forum has helped me so much. the crack addict down the street would be more usefull then this place.

and now you're DEFINITELY not going to get any help, are you. Asshat. It's not like they pay us or anything for god's sake.

Sorry, but we get a lot of posts here.
Sometimes, some of them slip down to page 2 before we even get to see them. A simple *bump* would've sufficed. Maybe if you provided a bit more info, we might be able to help. Can you give us the path\filenames of the entries in question? Are they all properly tagged? And if so, please provide details of the id3v1/v2 artist/album/track tags. Are the library metadata fields exactly the same for these multiple entries? Any non-regular characters in the filenames/tags? eg. ( ) [ ] { } ... # $ ^ "*" ? etc Are they all English filenames/tags, or unicode/international characters? And they are all definitely mp3's, not wma or other? If you remove the multiple entries from the libary, do they keep reappearing when you rescan the folders? Did you perhaps use an external mass tagging app to edit the id3 tags AFTER you imported them into Winamp's library? Or maybe you physically renamed the files? In which case, using "Library > Library button > Remove missing files..." should work. And you've not installed any other extra 3rd-party plugins whatsoever? btw, I've not personally seen this particular issue posted a lot. Maybe one or two cases. Re: crashing Impossible to diagnoze without knowing any system specs or details of the crash. ps. calm down James, lol :D ;) |
well I might of been rude, but it got results, right?(not that I would condone{sp} being an ass for any reason of course). will check out all that stuff. thanks.
oh and I think the crashing was/is due to my graphics card. |
