We should also add; blacks, communists/socialists,trade-unionists, homosexuals & mentally and physically disabled people.
Uh-huh. Oh yeah, since I don't believe the word of one person, I'm definately going to believe two people!

Note: Two times nothing is still nothing. ;p

Many people, in my experiance, have lower standards of proof than I do, and as such, I listen to proof, not words of others.

yeh, the guy in the video threw a missle launcher into the field.

that's weird that the other video makes it look like they shot them for no reason, but I guess these guys were trying to get past checkpoints with missles big enough to destroy US tanks.

Most of the recent deaths of US soldiers in Iraq have been by those make shift bombs and missiles.

any proof? thought not. he threw a "long cylindrical object" into the field. let's not jump to conclusions.

grumpyBB 25th January 2004 09:07

It wasn't a missle launcher, it was a spud gun.

Can I just point out that those who believe the Iraqi's were armed etc, are critising those who believe they weren't for exactly the same thing....lack of proof! There is no evidence to suggest those people were armed in any way, just assumptions. So, why don't we all just say, "We have no idea whether they were armed or not"

After all, I don't think we are going to change each others minds are we?

Agreed. The grainy thermalcam video is not nearly enough for any of us to make any real assessment of the situation or to know what the pilots actually saw.

xzxzzx 26th January 2004 03:53

Isn't that what I've been saying?

Hmm. Yes. Yes it is. All my quotes from page ONE:

Um. Yeah. I'd like to see something other than your word that shows these are, (presumably) innocent "potato farmers".

All you have is a disjointed audio track and a infrared video track with no indication of anything but some people being shot.

You have no proof, and yet the human assumption:
"If it's outrageous, it MUST be true!"

Hmm. I wonder what the truth is. Justified attack, or killing some farmers? The video doesn't really give enough data.
[edit] but the full length supposedly shows the men dumping weaponry. I kinda wonder what kind of Army would release a video of killing innocent farmers... [/edit]

Damn people not listening... ;-P

Fickle 26th January 2004 04:05

I loistened. I just stopped caring once it seemed like there were people still fighting over it.

marvinbarcelona 26th January 2004 06:35

xzxzzx, you might want to do a little reading on what happened in WWII. The Germans, did use captured Russian soldiers as slave labour, they did put them in camps and pretty much starved them to death, the same with Serbs, homosexuals, blacks, communists and the mentally and physically disabled.

Anyway, I'm out of this thread and pretty much out of this section of these forums. The arrogance levels here is far too high for me.

Lots of big fish in a little pond.

xzxzzx 26th January 2004 07:22

I'm not sure what the Germans have done makes any difference to what we're talking about. So if you read this, could you clarify?

On arrogance: Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Well, later, Marvin.

ROFL.

This is hilarious coming from you.

in fact, fuck this post.

There were plenty of trigger happy rednecks I've met when I was in the Army who seemed to get their kicks blowing people away or talking about it. This incident doesn't surprise me at all. The racism is in the military is just so blatant that it makes these kinds of incidents inevitable.

Ral of Tyr 6th February 2004 21:42

This is a huge thread. I ran into this about a month ago at a different site. This was on ABCi or something like that. There is not enough information to know whether these people were insurgents or civilians. What gets me, it with the noise of a helicopter, they are just standing around either trying to remain clam or have no reason to run.
