Btw, I see you have all 512 megs of your RAM. You have a video card? I think mine stole 8 megs for video memory or something...

I can expand to 1GB, but I'll probably replace the PC before then. 512MB has been plenty so far.

I only use the on-board video...an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 (32MB). Not the fastest by any means, but fast enough for my needs. I can run Milkdrop at 60fps for most presets with 4x multi-sampling in 1600x1200x32bpp. And I haven't caught it "thieving my system RAM"...yet. ;)

I try not to be a Sony whore, and I'll be the first to admit some of their PDAs do suck badly (like the NZ-90 I have), but I have to say, of the many PCs I've ever owned, this one is my favorite of all.

Ah, I got'cha. :) My computer can support up to a gig of RAM also, but like you said for yourself, half a gig is plenty for what I do too. I'm not worried about upgrading this computer, either. It's nice, and it works for what I need, but it's not as upgrade-friendly as I think it should be. It doesn't have an AGP slot, and a good PCI video card is extremely hard to find anymore... so I'm just going to keep using this one the way it is until I can get a new computer with everything I want. :)

I think it depends more on how much your motherboard can handle...

Mine need some upgrade too ... even having only 6 months of using, I'm about to buy some 512Mb RAM to it !! And about to upgrade to Win XP Pro ...
