ReplayGain again....
Hi Folks,
I know it was an old topic.... and remember that I read somewhere in this forum that it is planned for (next?) upcoming versions.... (No please, don't send me the links to the old plugins for it - I tried them and as they calculated different replay gain values on different machines at my side and remarkable was that the slower the PC (Hey, my MP3 JukeBox PC is still a nonMMX P200 (and therefore I am really thankfull that WA5 is just my beloved 2 again ;) ) the more songs were droped from calculation (whereas the implementation of replaygain of FooBar has no such problems)) ... So my question is -> if it is true (and not a rumor) will the WA replay gain support be able to read the ID3V2.3 (I am not asking about Ape tag - even if it is more and more supported - for some reasons I do not like the idea of any other tag format in MP3s then ID3) tag entries from FooBar or will it be a new calculation run on all songs for WA ??? (Hey, as long as there is Geiss I (mostly) stick to WinAmp - but as the implementation of RG is missing ... well and real RG is so much better then other solutions like wide&dynamix/RockSteady/etc. (&no I do not like MP3gain either for some reasons (even if the change in file is reversable - i am pro meta data on RG info))... Thanks, SHAnDRA |
