1. body temperature regulation,
2. variation in body temperature, and
3. level of resting metabolism.

Right, now did you ever think that each species that were either cold-blooded or warm-blooded never deviated from thoes two groups?

Excuse me? and why do they not function correctly? I find that a bit offensive. There is nothing wrong with them or abnormal, they just seem to have an extra gene and that gives them a few problems, generally medically and as such need a little extra care from the rest of there species.
They are people like you and me but to refer to them as not functioning properly is kinda insensitive and offensive.

I have no legs. My body can not function properly. This does not make me less human or less of a person. But it's not deniable that i don't function properly. The functioning of my body has nothing to do with my humanity. However i will choose my words more carefully next time.

They still aren't funcioning properly. If they "need a little extra care", then something ain't working right, or at least, not as well as the rest of humanity. That is something wrong with them, and it is abnormal.

This, of course, doesn't mean that they aren't human, or that we shouldn't help them.
