I went and saw this comedic hypnotist today on the VT campus - it was the funniest damn thing. Two guys gave birth, one guy was on his period and had to get a maxipad, a girl combed the audience looking for a shoe-phone because the ringing was driving her crazy, and one guy laughed hysterically when Lassie died. Plus a bunch more(don't feel like typing everything out - lol.

Anyways, has anyone here ever been hypnotized and made to do something stupid before? I didn't volunteer - thank god.

I am from a circus family, well at least my Granmother on my Daddy's side owned a circus, she had 10 siblings and they all could do something special (she could walk on a rope - even a not tighly straight one, one that only is hanging down kind of loose between two bars), my dad's Uncle was a hypnotist, he once killed a man unintentionally: The man was joking all the time about that he couldn't be hypnotized and cursed at the hypnotist until he got so angry that he said that the guy cannot get up from his chair anymore for a day or he'll become blind - apparently the guy did believe in it somehow because he fell down from his chair and was dead - heart attack.

So my uncle had to go to the police and they kept him in jail for a night but let him go after that...nobody really knows why, they said "lack of prove" or something but there always was the rumor that they found the police chief in his office and he had hung himself so they didn't want to keep him in jail anymore, they were scared of him...of course this thing seems a little too odd for me (probably he made it up to keep his image) but the heart attack story is true.

I always wanted to get hypnotized by him but I was a very small child back then, he passed away before I ever got to meet him and I still regret it...

This story seems a little unbelievable now that I read it again but it is really true, it's funny to be related to circus folk!

Yeah, that's exactly what the kids in grammar school used to call me who knew about it, I usually told them that the guy that throws around hte fire sticks will ge them :D But imagine the possibilities - you'll always have a free seat in the circus when they're in town, can ride on Elephants and camels for free and have animation and entertainment!

(I really can't stand the circus anymore when I'm honest, I went there too often during my childhood and never really got to like the clowns)

Being hypnotised is strange. I went to a hypnotist and, while I wasn't in the crowd, while watching him hypnotise all the people on stage I suddenly got a /major/ body buzz and I felt a bit woozy. Needless to say I got the fuck out of there till he was done putting the people on stage under.
