Your favourite Audio Editor(s)
Which Audio Editor do you use most for Editing your audio files (wav/mp3/ogg/wma formats), i.e. trimming, normalizing, cut/copy/paste sections of the file, add echo, Bassboost, Reverse tracks etc.?
Audacity Power Convertor Goldwave CoolEdit Pro Soundforge mp3DirectCut |
Goldwaves not bad, but I say Audacity because its freeware.

I've used all of the listed editors at one time or another, plus maybe 4 or 5 others, and still have several of them installed on my PC, even. But most often I use Exact Audio Copy (EAC) to do pop/click removal, (some) deglitching, equalization when desired, cutting/pasting segments, and manual waveform editing (to fix engineering errors). (For most deglitching, though, I use deglitch.exe)
EAC is not as powerful with waveform editing as some (specifically CoolEdit/Audition), but it's my primary ripping tool already, so it's "in front of me" most of the time anyway. It's just really easy to transcode to WAV with dBpowerAMP Music Convertor (in 5-10 seconds), then hit Ctrl-F5 in EAC to open the waveform. |
