Can't connect to any station

I've been having problems trying to connect to any of the Shoutcast stations or any other Winamp supported streaming station. I have:
  • an Athlon XP 1600+ CPU
  • 256 MB DDR RAM(basically, I have a high end system with more than enough specs to run Winamp and a whole lot of nearly everything else)
  • Windows XP home edition
  • ADSL high speed internet
and my NIC is firewalled.
On Shoutcast, for example, when I click on any of the "Tune In!" link to open the station, Winamp opens, but I only get the text message "shoutcast-playlist[1]" and so I don't get connected to the station, therefore, no music.:(
I have also tried on other streaming stations like radiostorm.com and the same result; I get a simular message on the scrolling title screen, but I can't connect. Winamp for some reason thinks that the station link I click on is associated as a playlist file, so I don't know if the station's IP address is missing, but that's what I've noticed everytime I click on a station.
I just upgraded from v.2 to v.5 today, and it's been doing the same thing, so it must be in the preferences settings somewhere. Is there any way I can configure Winamp to normally connect and stream audio stations, and how do I do it?:igor:

If someone can help me with this, that'd be great.:D

Try one or more of the following...

Clear the internet cache
MS Internet Explorer
Tools > Internet Options... > General tab > click Delete Files button under "Temporary Internet Files"
-or-
Control Panel > Internet Options icon > General tab > click Delete Files button under "Temporary Internet Files"

Make sure playlist files are associated with Winamp
Ctrl+P (for preferences) > General Preferences > File types > make sure pls and m3u are highlighted > make sure 'Restore file associations at Winamp start-up' is checkmarked > close & restart Winamp

Firewall Setup?
Is the firewall configured to allow Winamp proper or full access.
