Live 365/2.91- Proxy Connection
Here goes-
GOAL: Use Winamp 2.91 with mp3Pro Plug in to listen to my Live 365 Station. I have a Live 365 station in mp3Pro. They don't seem to be able to find an answer to this one. WMP= Windows media Player LIVE= Live 365 VIP Player Winamp= WinAmp 2.91 with mp3Pro Plug In Live 365 wants you to log into thier site first to launch a station. It passes the information to the player and opens the player to start the stream. WMP will connect to Live 365 and run my stream from behind the company proxy. BUT no mp3Pro. LIVE player just pukes and says can not start stream. Winamp- at first it gave a proxy auth error. I fixed that with the standard put the username:password@proxy:port and now I get- unknown host. Now when I put in the direct URL (###.###.###) to my Live 365 station I get to the server, but LIVE 365 rejects it because of a 'log in error'. I can run a shoutcast server on my computer at home- enter the direct IP and stream no problem. BUT when either I put the http://www.live365.com/play/(Station)it says unknown host or if the Live 365 site opens winamp and places the url as above it says unknow host. Why can the direct IP addesses get something, even though it does not stream, yet the word addresses go unknown host? It seems something should work here, it's like it almost works. I have no access to change the proxy, but it is so strange that WMP works and streams, but nothing else will stream, but will get some kind of connects... Windows 2000 Pro- all up to date, Winamp 2.91, 5 is just too much of a CPU pig for this machine. |
Please upgrade to Winamp 5.01. Winamp 2.91 is no longer supported. Also, uninstall the MP3pro plug-in, third aprty plugins are not supported. Contact them if you have issues with it.
