Winamp 5 & virtual desktops
I can't get winamp 5.xx to work with virtual desktops. Winamp windows (especially with modern skin) keep on appearing whenever I switch to a different desktop. Strange.
Is there an option to change, or a workaround? Thanks. |
I have the same problem. I'm using a virtual desktop manager program called "sDesk". If I switch windows Winamp will follow me. Sometimes it's almost instant other times it takes a few seconds.
As far as I can tell sDesk handles desktops by placing programs "off-screen" in a virtual screen matrix. Essentially, all the apps on the other windows are "lost" off screen with an off screen position (something like X=10000 Y=10000). Winamp probably detects that it is out of the normal dektop size view window(ex. 1280x1024) and brings itself back onto the viewable screen area. It would be nice if there were some way to turn this feature off. it's not so much a problem but an intentional action i think. have you ever used winamp on a higher resolution then switched monitors or something and had winamp (or another app) start up out of screen and not be able to access it? i know i have and this has proved convenient. anyway, i don't know what type of skins you are using, but there are setting for using virtual desktops. i'm not sure how they work, but you can give it a go.
to get there, right click -> preferences -> skins i know there is a setting under classic skins for virtual desktops, but i haven't seen one for modern skins (unless that setting is somehow shared) also, do a forum search for litestep and desktops or something.... u may find something |
