Let's settle this once and for all.... Which is the best P2P client?
I use:
For albums - Soulseek For video & software - DC++ |
WinMX
Had Kazaa Lite for a while, but thereafter uninstalled it when it proved ineffective :( |
Bittorrent.
|
Someone put Kazaa in the poll (many people have Kazaa or K++) =P
I use KL K++ for software and buy music because download = crap. |
Soulseek - 1
DC++ - 1 WinMX - 1 Bittorrent -1 Kazaa - 1 |
emule, haven't failed to find what I want on it yet. No bugs, no ads, constantly updated....perfection.
|
Bittorrent and Waste do me real good.
|
DC++, found everything i've looked for quite easily.
|
Unfortunatly, this is now a "what p2p do you use" poll
So it seems, fools who don't know any better than to use kazaa are voting for it. When we all know it is they who make kazaa suck. |
dc++ is the best. you can find everything you want on it. bittorent is very useful at times. kazaa is just shit, why are there 4 votes for it currently?
|
I'm amazed people are still using kazaa.
Ah well.:( Quote:
|
KaZaA Lite  my old one still kicking ;)
|
Just connect to three random medium sized ones at a time and search.
|
I use 5 (I was booted off one for sharing incomplete files). The dear old 'bots'.:D
I'd say 2 hubs is a Kazaa session, anything more and you're gaining. |
bittorrent- the client is very lightweight.
|
Gnucleus
|
Kazaa (K++) had it time ... now it really sucks, just for some video ..
DC++ it's perfect for soft and videos ... Gnucleus for music (Wich I Almost dont download) ... But, the best one is, nowadays, DC++ |
I use DC++ for albums, videos, software, e-books, the works.
If I want to just hear a song real fast (no matter what quality or the shape its in), I'll use Kazaa Lite, just because I really want to listen to that song. I'm usually on 3 hubs at a time in DC++, 2 of which I get all my music from. The other one I chat in, get different genres of music, software, and everything else. It's perfect. |
I use Shareaza. It let's me connect to Gnutella 1 and 2, eDonkey and it can be used as a Bit Torrent Client as well. I also use DC++ for certain things as well.
|
For People with little or no experiance, or just for light useage: WinMX
For those who feal more confident (or are after a greater % of real files): EMule |
Kazzaa is generally used by folk who are just starting to use p2p, eventually they migrate to better clients.
|
Since the demise of AudioGalaxy, I've only used Kazaa Lite, DC++(with the moGlo search tool) and Shareaza (beats the regular BitTorrent client). DC++ has found the most material, and you can get excellent download speeds on it. Shareaza's good for finding rare stuff on BitTorrent or the gnutella networks.
Haven't used Soulseek or WinMX. |
Audiogalaxy! man i remember that. that was awesome for mp3s
|
hey cylob you forgot eMule Plus :) so i vote eMule
|
I use slsk for tunes, BT for the occasional tunes, movies and software.
|
This should have check boxes :P
I use BT, WASTE, and E-Mule once in a while. |
I use waste for alot, if its not there then I try bittorent, only use e-mule for porn. Klite is the last place I go for something
|
Kazaa (with DietK... mmm, lemon)
|
How about.
Only answer if you've used them all. Anyone who votes for kazaa. Has not used them fucking all. |
It's surprising how many people use Waste. All you need is 50 like-minded people (all sharing 10,000+ files) and you're laughing.:D
|
Dude, WASTE pwns
Nothing else compares. -Duane |
i use WASTE, but it's only suitable for small-scale networks, as its architecture does not scale well. and it requires a trusted userbase.
also, i can tunnel WASTE out of my university connection, which is in sharp contrast with any other system. |
ok my question is how easy is the user interface on dc++ is it set up like kazaa or napster even? do you type what you are looking for in a search field or do you have to enter in some kinda code?. i went through the f.a.q. on the dc++ site. there seams to be a lot of things that you either have to lookout for or do inorder to get it to work.
|
There's a search tool called moglo which improves things on that front. Personally I tend to use small private hubs, you can find an awful lot from just a handful of users.

The DC++ interface will be instantly recognisable to any kazaa user. There's the standard search-button. The real difference is you connect to hubs (of your choice) rather than automatically connecting to a supernode. It takes a few minutes to get used to the interface. |
I'm using Kazaa Lite K++ right now and out of 512 million files I cannot find one trance song that I want. Plus out of all the other crap/jargon out there with Kazaa, some of these files are kinda buggy. I'm giving eMule a test run..right now.

No, you don't have to know them, unless you want. I'm normally in small private hubs, where they organize their music and have it all ready for ya. It's better that way.
You join any random hub and download from them if you like though, no harm done. That's how you find new things. |
waste for purposes sharing.
giftd + giftui for dling. s0be |
Don't use the things myself having access to an old ...naps... Server :whistles:
but I did find a load of public key things for waste what ever they are  :weird: *shrugs* like I say to much rubbish in them things... waste link thingie I use scene.org mainly Trance, Psy-Trance, Techno not responcible for any thing you get there, have hadthe odd baddy, but my AVG has allways caught it... ~ :) |
