I've been under a rock

I have seriously been out of the loop for a long time. What happened to all of the old winamp skins. Did they all get deleted or moved?

k_rock923 19th February 2004 16:48

i think a lot of them were deleted for being incomplete. but don't take my word for it. last time i answered a question like this, Jones shot me down faster than you can say "pwnt"

Vie 19th February 2004 16:49

No, the server is screwed up.

Also you might want to look under "Clasic" skins rather than modern.

charles81 19th February 2004 16:49

Im only asking because I posted a few and my hard drive died and I lost them all and I wanted to find them again...

anubis2003 19th February 2004 16:52

Give it some time for the servers to get straightened out - yours may come back.

Vie 19th February 2004 16:52

Ah, the server is definatly screwed, skin submissions are faily well buggerd.

charles81 19th February 2004 17:10

thankx, I guess I'll just have to keep checking back.

Mr Jones 19th February 2004 18:06

If you had a skin/s on the site and they appear to have gone, then ask yourself "Was it complete?", some time ago all the incomplete skins were rooted out, the authors asked to update and if not, then they got deleted.

Check out the submission FAQ to find out what the current minimum accepted standard is.

If you are just looking for classic skins, then look here..
http://www.winamp.com/skins/browse.p...er=S&query=%2A

That should find you at least 14,000 of the buggers.

charles81 19th February 2004 18:19

Well I dont really expect to find them, although they were complete. It was just so long ago though

Mr Jones 19th February 2004 18:25

The definition of 'complete' has changed recently regarding winamp skins.

Quote:

every skin should at least have the Main, Equalizer, Play List, Video and General windows skinned. The AVS and Minibrowser windows are no longer required, but include them non the less for legacy support, oh go on.
