Major Problem With Winamp
I Got Winamp 5, i went to play a song, and it asked me for winamp 3, and it couldnt find it, so i have to right click the music file and click play with "Winamp" i put, Use this program to open all files like this" and it changed all my music to Winamp media files which change them to large music file like wavs.
how can i fix this? so that it won't change them all to winamp media files ? (I Can play Winamp media files) but i want to play MP3 Files with Winamp 5) any help wood be much appreciated Thanks moderators i hope you get paid  |
There's no such thing as 'Winamp Media Files'.
It's just a decription, and means that Winamp is the default player of those filetypes. If you go to: Windows Folder Options > View tab and uncheck: Hide extensions for known filetypes you'll then see that all your MP3 files still have the .MP3 extension at the end, and they haven't changed at all. Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > File Types Select/deselect the file extensions you want/don't want Winamp to be the default player for. If you don't want Winamp to be the default MP3 player, then you can open them via the Winamp interface. Main window > File -> Play File or Play Folder Playlist -> Add button -> File / Folder Re: Winamp3 See the relevant section here (Legacy Support for Winamp3 v1.0) |
Thanks for the reply, I Have now gone back to Winamp 3.0
because, im not overloading my hard drive with winamp media files, or whatever there called, because it changes to a wav sort of file. which is like 46MB. Thanks for trying to help. |
Huh?
Oh well, Winamp3 isn't supported. So, it's *whack* time. Sounds to me like you had DiskWriter Output enabled. Basic rule of Winamp 1.x/2.x/5.x usage. The hi-lighted Output plugin is the active one. For normal playback select one of WaveOut or DirectSound Output. kthxbye |
